Trip to Georgia

Tony had the weekend off last weekend and we decided to head to Savannah...just the two of us for a little getaway...and we are lucky enough to have grandparents that are happy to take Cole for the night.  So...we took off for Savannah and my parents took off for Statesboro to visit my granny and Cole's great-granny...then we headed to Statesboro on Saturday to visit as well!  We has a little rain to contend with in Savannah, but we still had a FABULOUS time!

We stayed in the Avia...#1 on Trip Advisor...and it was quite nice...they even gave us room 311...our anniversary date...sort of a cool coincidence!

Dinner at Vic's On The River...Tony had crab cakes and I had shrimp n grits...in a bbq sauce...good, but not my favorite shrimp n grits.

This is what we looked like when we returned to our hotel...it started POURING when we were signing our check at dinner...we stood under the awning for about 10 minutes waiting for it to let up a bit, then made a run for it, luckily our hotel wasn't far from the restaurant.

River Street

MSC Stella...we can never get away from Tony's work...haha!

No picture, but before we checked out Saturday morning, we ate at an express bakery, Goose Feathers...it was so yummy and a much better alternative than waiting in the crazy long line at Paula Deen's...we had NO desire to dine there.  Anyway...at Goose Feathers we shared a scrambled cheese eggs and bacon sandwich on a fresh, flaky croissant and a cinnamon bun with a honey-like glaze on it...the roll was also a flaky, gooey croissant-like roll....yumm yumm!  My favorite food from the weekend!

And...no trip to Savannah is complete without a stop at Bass Pro Shops...we got Cole a BPS romper(in camo green, of course) and a stuffed turkey that makes a turkey call when you squeeze it...it was appropriately called a "Critter Caller".

Second stop...Statesboro to see Granny Fowler

Sweet little mornin man in his plane jammies

Keeping an eye on Alvin...Granny has this singing Alvin and Cole wasn't too sure about him.

Rocking in Granny's Cole-Sized rocker...he's one of MANY grands and great-grands to have sat in this chair.

Cole and his Great Granny Fowler...hard to sit still at this age!  (Cole 9 1/2 months, Granny 87)
She loves this little man and can't quit talking about how good she thinks he is...
...he puts a big smile on her face and I LOVE it...and LOVE my granny!

Ok...here are a few more pictures of Cole and daddy at the house...

Playing in his toy basket...it appears we have a toy shortage

Other side note...Cole is 10 months old today!  Can't believe we're only two months from his very 1st Birthday!

July Fun

Hi everyone...here are a few pics from this month.  Cole is getting so big...he's now clapping, waving when he feels like it...still not walking, but crawling all over the place and cruising along furniture.  His little personality is really coming out now...with a slight temper when things don't go his way...haha!  No crazy temper tantrums...just obvious fussiness when mom or dad intervene when he is wanting to get into things he shouldn't.
We had a relaxing weekend at Dovewood Farm(Me-Maw and Papa's).  Here are some pics from the 4th weekend and other recent Cole pics.
